Prof. Biunno is a senior Researcher at Institute for Genetic and Biomedical Research of the National Research Council (IRGB-CNR), Milano- Italy were she spent more than 30 years.

The main scientific activities are:

  • the use of epigenetic/epigenomic modifications to re-program somatic cells into insulin producing cells;
  • analyze the biochemical function of the cell quality control mechanisms (ERAD/UPR) in a variety of cellular physiological and pathological conditions including human cancer stem cells;
  • biobanking of highly controlled pluripotent human stem cells

Prof. Biunno has Bachelor Degree in Biology and Psychology from Temple University, PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia-PA (USA) and Doctoral Degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Milan-Italy.
